NPP assures transparent elections slated for August 26

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Elections Committee has pledged to execute a fair, free, and transparent election scheduled for Saturday, August 26.

Assuring the public of their commitment, the NPP has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure the success of the impending election.

Chairing the NPP Presidential Elections Committee, Professor Michael Oquaye, has emphasized that the procedures in place will guarantee the transparency of the forthcoming polls, thus, rendering the election’s outcome acceptable to all parties involved.

With ten contenders, including Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, vying for leadership within the NPP for the 2024 presidential elections, the stakes are high.

The recent balloting on July 26, as announced by NPP Elections Committee spokesperson Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has assigned positions on the ballot papers as follows: Ken Ohene Agyapong (1), Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen (2), Joe Ghartey (3), Kwadwo Poku (4), Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto (5), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong (6), Francis Addai Nimoh (7), Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku (8), Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko (9), and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia (10).

The upcoming super delegates conference scheduled for August 26 will narrow down the field of aspirants from ten to five, setting the stage for the presidential primaries to select a flagbearer on November 4.

In a bid to uphold the integrity of the process and thwart potential vote buying, the NPP has adopted stringent protocols. Phones and cameras have been strictly prohibited during the conference.
