The amount was paid through the Company’s Internally Generated Funds saving the company from collapse.

BOST over the past 5 years owed its suppliers an amount of 6 Hundred and 24 Million Dollars.

Vice President Bawumia speaking at a ceremony to commission a new office complex of BOST, mentioned that the Company has become a blueprint for other state-owned enterprises.

“As a consumer, you should be compensated when services are not up to the standards. Like if you go and recharge your prepaid card but do not work for when you get home. you have been inconvenienced and you need to be compensated.

The consumer has the right to safety, the consumer has the right to information, the consumer has the right to be given the space to complain, the consumer has the right to also seek redress.

The consumer cannot be taken for granted. I want the basic consumer right to be passed first then we can move on to other technical areas like clean energy. We should push for the passage of consumer bill.”
