Measures Being Taken To Establish Local Vaccine Institutions – Dr Abdul- Kabiru Mahama

Technical Advisor at the Office of the Vice President, Dr Abdul – Kabiru Mahama has revealed the government is focused on developing a vaccine locally and not leaving it in the lands of foreigners.

According to him, measures are being taken to position Research Institutions like Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research through the National Vaccine Bill to manufacture vaccines.

Dr Abdul – Kabiru Mahama mentioned that the emergence of COVID-19 has taught the nation to be self-reliant.

” The President’s whole idea of vaccine policy is to ensure that we prepare. I research into vaccine development, a policy of people, not just covid but even emerging trends of pandemic.

Government has received some supply of vaccines after the address, and I think the Minister of Information has provided some information to that effect. That was a challenge the President acknowledged, and even a few days after his statement that issued has been addressed.

So, in fact, Covid has taught us the need to be self-reliant, and that we shouldn’t leave a research and development generally to the hands of foreigners when there is a pandemic they will look at themselves first when there are excesses then they then begin to look at their neighbor,” Dr Abdul Mahama emphasized.
