In a remarkable display of support, over 400 polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kwesimintsim Constituency, Western Region, have voluntarily secured nomination forms for their incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr Prince Hamid Armah, ahead of the 2024 parliamentary primaries.

Amidst a spirited march through the principal streets of Kwesimintsim, hundreds of NPP sympathizers joined forces with party executives to submit a filled nomination form and essential documents at the party’s constituency office.

The executives were led by the First Vice Chairman, Alfred Yeboah, and 2nd Vice Chairperson of the NPP in the constituency, Jane Duah.

Speaking to Beach FM, Alfred Yeboah emphasized the collective decision to rally behind Dr Prince Hamid Armah, citing his exemplary contributions to the constituency.

“Dr Prince Hamid Armah is our Member of Parliament, and we, as delegates, recognize his remarkable achievements. We came together, picked, and filed the nomination forms to ensure he continues the excellent work,” Mr. Yeboah stated.

The commitment of the 420 polling station executives was underscored by their financial support, raising over GH¢38,000 to pay for the forms and filing fee, even in the absence of the MP.

Mr. Yeboah praised Dr Armah’s impactful initiatives, stating, “in every electoral area within the Kwesimintsim Constituency, you can see what he’s done and continues to do for us. So we the 420 polling station executives contributed and paid everything although Dr Prince Hamid Armah is not around. We were able to raise over GH¢38,000 to support our MP.”

Dr Prince Hamid Armah, contested the election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party in 2020 after defeating the incumbent with nearly 60 per cent of the vote in the party’s primaries held in June 2020. The general election on December 7, saw him overcome a spirited challenge from the National Democratic Congress’ candidate, and Dr Armah won with about 12,000 votes more than all his opponents combined.

As the NPP gears up for the 2024 parliamentary primaries, the groundswell of support from polling station executives showcases a unified front and a testament to Dr Prince Hamid Armah’s impactful leadership.
