UEW CLOSED DOWN INDEFINITELY

The Central Regional Security Council in consultation with the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan have indefinitely closed down the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to afford them time to settle all grievances deviling the institution.

Announcing the decision to the student the Central Minister Kwamena Duncan stated that what started as pocket of misunderstandings has now turned into something else and if care is not taking lives will be lost.

“Based on the advise giving me by the regional security council both the Winneba and Ajumako campus of the University have been closedown till what ever needs to be done is done before we can ask the student body to return to campus. So all student have now still 6pm this evening to leave campus.”

Students at the University of Education, Winneba have been demonstrating against their vice chancellor and the teaching council over the dismissal of some lecturers at the University.

The students have abandoned lectures for the past three days staging series of demonstrations against rampage the University of Education Teaching Council and the Vice Chancellor asking them to reinstate the sacked lecturers.
