PassionAir Suspends Takoradi Flights Till Further Notice

PassionAir has announced the suspension of its Takoradi flight operations, effective Monday, January 14th, 2019 until further notice.
The airline in a notice sent to its trade partners said the suspension was to allow the airline to ‘restructure’ its approach on the route to ensure that it fully reaped the benefits of the essentially corporate’ route.
“To this end, PassionAir wishes to apologise for any inconvenience this action may have caused you as a business partner” the notice said.
PassionAir began operations in Ghana’s domestic air travel space in August 2018, bringing some competition to the market for Africa World Airlines, the only remaining domestic airline following the exit of Fly540, Starbow and Antrak air over the past few years.
Mr Samuel Abdul-Razak Tachie, Sales and Marketing Manager at PassionAir told the GNA that the flights would resume once the restructuring was completed.
He said the airline was in talks with several corporate organisations to get them on board and assured that the airline’s charter flights to Takoradi would continue to operate.
He added that in the meantime, the airline was also preparing to ramp up its operations on the Kumasi and Tamale route, with a projected increase to three times daily on the Tamale route by end of January and four times daily on the Kumasi route, peaking to five times daily.
