Brighton’s Paul Winstanley has been appointed Chelsea’s new Director of Global Talent

Chelsea

Chelsea signed Graham Potter from Brighton few months ago as successor to their Former head coach Thomas Tuchel. This move has generated another trade between these two clubs.

Tuesday, 15th November, 2022, they’ve announced the appointment of Winstanley from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The West London based football club thanked Brighton for enabling him to take Chelsea’s opportunity.

Qouted by Chelsea, Winstanley said of his appointment, ‘I’m thrilled to be joining Chelsea and to continue working with Graham Potter and his team. There is a real sense of excitement and momentum around the new ownership and this project. I’m looking forward to working with such an outstanding group of colleagues as the club moves into a new era.’

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali also commented: ‘Paul is going to be a great addition to Chelsea. He’s highly respected and is a key senior addition as we continue to build a world class sporting team with a huge depth of talent, ambition and commitment who will work closely with us to drive Chelsea forward. Paul shares our philosophy and will fit seamlessly into the organisation.’

Chelsea’s recent form has caused agitation from its fans; advocating the sacking of Potter and reinstament of Tuchel.

However, this announcement might be a hint that Boehly is not ready to part company with the former Brighton man any time soon.
