Fire Blazes Two Bedroom House In Effiakuma

Fire razes a two-bedroom house in J2 Area around the Church of Christ in the Effia-Kuma Community. The room is said to be occupied by a single mother of four who sells second hand clothes.

According to co-tenants of the house, the fire engulfed the room early Monday morning when the mother and children were away. The fire started as a smoke, but it was observed that her neighbor’s room was in flames.

Neighbours came around with buckets of water to extinguish the fire however, due to electrical cables connected, they had to step aside for the GNFS to quench the fire.

“We were about four girls in the next room. I came out to play with the kids when I noticed smoke coming from my neighbour’s room. I quickly advised my roommates to pack our belongings before we get affected. The victim is a mother of four who sells second hand clothes “foos”.

Fortunately, she was out with the children when the fire started. Fire service came on time, however, because of the exposed cables, they had to cut them off. There was no casualties as I know but her properties were completely burnt,”

According to Police report the cables connected to the room were all cut of to prevent any further casualties. The GNFS came to early to stabilise the situation and as at now, they are yet to find the cause of the fire.

He added that, there were no casualties but the properties of the victim was totally destroyed.
