CHIEF OF HIMAN-PRESTEA DONATES 4000 BOOKS TO BASIC SCHOOLS

The Divisional Chief of Himan-Prestea in the Prestea Hunni Valley District of western region, Nana Nteboah Pra IV has this morning donated 4000 pieces of customize exercise books to twelve (12) basic schools within Himan-Prestea as part of effort to uplift the level of education in the district.
He told Spicefmonline that, education is one of his priorities as the Chief that is why scholarships are being given to children of Himan to attend Prestea High School for free as his contribution to raise the standards of education in the Himan Traditional Area.





Nana Nteboah Pra IV mentioned that “Adinkra” symbols have been printed at the back of the exercise books to help the children to learn the symbols as indigenous Ghanaians and apply the lessons from it to their daily lives.
He however appealed students in the area to learn hard to become responsible and great personalities in future to help develop Ghana.
Speaking on behalf of the schools, the head teacher of Himan Methodist, Madam Agnes Ocran they really appreciate the effort Nana Nteboah Pra IV to promote education in the district and they are grateful.
She said the donation of the exercise books will go along way to save most parents the worry of buying books and save the children from unnecessary distraction which will keep the child away from the classroom.
