Special Prosecutor to instil the fear of God in corrupt officials – Nana Addo


The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, has assured Ghanaians that the Office of the Special Prosecutor will instil the fear of God in  officials in order not to be corrupt.
President Nana Akufo Addo on the 11th day of January 2018 named Martin Amidu as Ghana’s first Special Prosecutor which he announced in a short ceremony at the Flagstaff House in Accra.




The Special Prosecutor, once confirmed by Parliament, will carry an extraordinary responsibility independently and impartially to fight corruption.
Speaking at a media encounter today, Wednesday 17th January 2018 at the Flagstaff House in Accra, President Akufo Addo stated that Martin Lamisi Amidu is a significant choice who has proven that he is against corruption.
According to the President, the office of the Special Prosecutor will not only fight corruption in the outgone administrations.

A significant choice though, that Mr. Amidu is, I do not expect that he will provide all the answers with dealing with the phenomenon of corruption by public officials,” admitted the President Wednesday during his encounter with the media.

“ Like I always say, anyone who has information on any corruption allegation on any official of the NPP should bring it up and be prepared to back it up with evidence”, he added.
