Scores of Residents in Sekondi- Takoradi continue to lament the increase in gas prices in the country.  According to them, the price increment is becoming the essence of the day.

Reacting to this, residents say they are left in a panic waiting for when next, the hike in prices will hit. This panic from residents comes at the back of the recent rise in fuel prices causing the upsurge in prices of every commodity of monetary value.

“Before gas used to last longer, now gas is just not the same. Prices have been increased again. There are also no prices enlisted there for us to know how much we are buying. They just determine the prices after serving you the product. The issues regarding gas in this country are just bad.”

Another consumer said, “The prices of gas are expensive now. I buy GH¢150.00 of gas but it can’t even take me to the next month. For it to last longer for me, I have to buy GH¢ 210 of gas to fill my cylinder.”

However, a Gas vendor claims the consistent price increase has disrupted the flow of the gas. He said residents purchase little to nothing at his Station of work and blames the hike in fuel prices for the decline in purchases.

He spoke to business daily.

“I work for 24 hours a day, the patronage is low because of the hike in prices. There’s an increase every two weeks so the consumers can hardly afford it.”
